An African Sampler in a Few Blocks

Back in 2009, just months after we opened our doors in Fort Greene, Bati Ethiopian Kitchen was mentioned in a New York Times article exploring African restaurants across Brooklyn. It was an early recognition of the flavors, tradition, and community spirit we’ve continued to grow ever since.
The article highlighted several African restaurants helping to shape Brooklyn’s diverse dining scene at the time, and we were proud to be included among them — even as a brand-new restaurant.
It’s always an honor to be recognized, especially by such a respected publication, and this feature marked the beginning of a long journey grounded in culture, hospitality, and bold Ethiopian cooking.
